Beauty Review: Elf Make up Remover Cleansing Cloths

Elf Make up Remover Cleansing Cloths

Beauty Review by:
Michelle Hibbard

I bought these make-up removing cloths last month while making an Elf Cosmetics online purchase. The cloths/wipes I normally buy can run up to $7 so I thought wouldn't it be wonderful if the Elf wipes worked just as well and for only $3 I could buy double for the price of my usual make-up removing wipes.

When they arrived I was a little disappointed because the one thing I forgot to look at before purchasing was the quantity.  There are only 20 wipes in these packages. I probably would have bought them anyway because they are so cheap.

That night I opened them and noticed they had a very pleasant smell.  It wasn't overkill,  just a light clean fragrance. I started to write away my make-up mask which I usually start with my forehead and go around my face doing my eyes last with a second wipe. It seemed to be working OK but I wasn't impressed.  I always use 2 wipes and with these I had to use 3.

After wiping away my face make-up I started with my eyes.  The second I bought the cloth near my eye it started to sting and water. Not good. It took off the eye make-up but not as easily as I would like.  I felt like I really had to rub to get it off and the eyes are the area you want to be very gentle with because rubbing harshly can cause fine lines.

Even with these issues I decided to continue using them. The blogger and beauty reviewer inside of me want to make sure they wouldn't get better with time.
They didn't.
I noticed a small breakout on my chin so I decided that night would be the last time I use these wipes and I would purchase my usual wipes the day.

I am not over exaggerating when I say the next day my entire face was broken out!

I was horrified! I had spent so long getting a skin care regimen down that was finally keeping my skin clear and these stupid wipes broke me out worse than ever and in just 5 days! Ugh!

Below is a picture of the lovely face decorations the Elf Make-up Remover Cleansing Cloths gave me.

So I am sure you can guess I did not use these again.  I threw them away. Like I have said before, Elf is hit and miss. They have some super amazing products, a few are my all time favorites,  but they also have some really bad products too.

Needless to say I do not recommend these for anyone out any skin type!

Elf Blush Palette (dark) review

Elf Blush Palette Review

Beauty Review By: Michelle Hibbard

Elf Blush Palette: $6.00
(available on the Elf Cosmetics site)

If you sign up with your email to the ELF Cosmetics website you will be sent emails to several discounts. If you are familiar with Elf then you probably already know that their cosmetics are super adorable.  A sale in top of the already low prices is hard to pass up!

One of the newer products that Elf came out with months ago is the blush palettes.  There are two options, light and dark. Since it is so close to Fall I decided to try the dark blush palette.
The case is a hard, durable plastic and inside there is a big mirror which I love!

When I opened the palette I totally fell in love. The colors are beautiful. The only thing that had me a little concerned is the blush on the bottom left. There are specs of glitter in the blush.  That is something I haven't really seem before. I don't want glitter on my cheeks!
Fortunately the glitter is minimal so it isn't very noticeable.
However, I will probably not be using that blush as much as the others because of the glitter specs.
I also noticed that the"light" blush palette also has one blush with glitter
in it too. I really wish they hadn't done that but it hasn't stopped me from loving this quad.

Another thing I love about this palette is the bushes are removable. They are very easy to pop out and put in.
In the picture below you can see where I removed one of the blushes and there is a square hole underneath. This makes it very easy to pop the blush with a finger through the square.
If you have both the light and dark palette you can switch up your palettes to the colors of your choice which is great for traveling.

These blushes are not only beautiful in color but they are super pigmented. When I first applied to my cheeks I had hardly any product on my brush and it ended up being way too much. I am very impresed. I have used the single blushes by Elf and they were powdery and some were pigmented and some were invisible no matter how much I packed on. The blushes In this palette however are nothing like the singles.

Since swatches don't show you the full effect I decided to apply each color to my arm and blend with a blush brush.  I gently swept my brush over the top of the blush and then applied it so you can see how pigmented they are with just a dab of product.

All of these blushes blend beautifully,  are very pigmented, are amazing colors for any skin color ( just adjust the amount of product, very little needed for fair skin) and best of all this palette is extremely affordable!
I have already made an online purchase for the light blush palette.
These are high quality blushes for a drugstore price. Can't beat that!
