Is the Elf Studio Endless Eyes Mini Palette really a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette???

Is the Elf Studio Endless Eyes Mini palette really a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette???

I have been working on a few posts and one of them is the Ultimate MAC Dupe List, (coming soon). While doing research for this post I came across a few Pinterest "Pins" that mentioned the Elf Endless Eyes palette being a amazing dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Since I had a discount code for Elf online I thought...
Let's find out....

First lets compare swatches.

Can you tell which one is the Naked Palette? Urban Decay Naked palette swatches are on the left, Elf Natural palette on the right. The the colors are pretty much spot on! I was amazed at just how similar these shadows really are! Most of them are exact dupes. The next question is... How do these shadows apply and look on the lids?

On one eye I am wearing shadows from the Urban Decay Naked Palette, on the other, the Elf Studio Endless Eyes Palette. Can you tell which is which? Take a guess and on the bottom of this post I will show the answer.

So below I have taken pictures of each shadow and its dupe. Since the Elf palette does not name their shadows I have numbered them starting at top left going right and in the same pattern all the way down. What? I just confused myself!
You can see on the first picture the way I have numbered them.

Virgin

#10 is an exact dupe for Virgin in color, but in quality it falls a little short. It is a nice shadow but to acquire the same look as the Virgin shadow it must be packed on.

Sin

#2 is an exact dupe for Sin in color and very close in quality. The Sin shadow is a bit creamier but they are very close.

Naked

#3 was the second most disappointing shadow out of the dupes. I had a hard time just swatching this shadow and could get no color pay off. Applying to the my lid wasn't any better. It was very hard to work with and was completely invisible. I was a bit bummed because I really feel that the color Naked in the U.D. palette is a great transition color and much needed. However #19 is a similar color in the Elf palette that could be used instead.

Side Car

#4 is an exact dupe in color for Side Car from the Naked palette. The quality is almost there but not as creamy and pigmented as Side Car.

Buck

#5 is another shadow that had very little color pay off. In color it is an exact dupe for Buck, however It was very hard to build up and get a good swatch. It was a bit easier to work with than #3 though.

Half Baked

#11 is an amazing dupe for Half Baked. The color is exactly the same, the shadows are close in pigmentation and the quality of #11 is just slightly below Half Baked.

Smog

#7 is an exact dupe for Smog in color and pigmentation. It is also very close in quality.

Dark Horse

#8 is an exact dupe for Dark Horse in color. This is a shadow you will definitely have to build up to meet the same look as the U.D. Dark Horse shadow.

Toasted

#27 is an exact dupe for Toasted in color, pigmentation and even quality. Elf should have made all of the shadows like #27. It is creamy goes on the lid beautifully. Best dupe out of all.

Hustle

#29 is my second favorite dupe. The color is the same as Hustle. pigmentation is great and quality is just a bit under the U.D. shadows.

Creep

This is another shadow from the Elf palette I was disappointed in. The color is the same, if you can get enough product. When blending it literally wipes away. This is the only shadow I would NOT use even though it is an exact color for Creep, it is a very cheap made shadow. One plus to the Elf palette is that there are 32 shadows, so the black shadow #32 could be used instead. It is a nice matte black shadow that works well.

GunMetal

#30 is same as the majority. Exact dupe in color for GunMetal, pigmentation is good but quality is just below Gun Metal.

The shimmer/satin shadows seem to be of better quality. The matte colors are hit and miss, a few good, a few worthless. With that said I still believe this is a great cheaper option for the Naked palette.

Elf Studio Endless Eyes Mini Palette (Limited Edition) - $6.00
Urban Decay Naked Palette - $54.00
Savings - $48.00!!!!!

As far as quality they are obviously not as good as the Urban Decay shadows. There is a reason for the difference in price. But that doesn't mean they aren't fabulous. For a much cheaper option for an entire palette 10 out of 12 isn't bad. I just had to work a little harder to blend to get the same results as the U.D. shadows  and I had to pack on more shadow for some to get the same pigment. I still came out with an identical look and both looked the same after 5 hours using the Benefit "Stay don't Stray" eye primer.. So if you are searching for a cheaper way to get the same looks and colors as the Naked palette, I 100% recommend the Elf Studio Endless Eyes mini palette! It is a MUCH cheaper option with almost 3x the shadows.
It was $10.00 now reduced to $6.00!'It says on the site it is limited edition, don't wait too long!

B.T.W.... I took notice that there are many dupes in this Elf palette that match the Urban Decay Naked 2 and 3 palettes and even the Lorac Pro palette. The Elf shadows do not make up these entire palettes, but there are many similar and duplicate shadows.
