Review: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Wear Foundation

Lancome
Teint Idole
Ultra 24 Hour Wear
Foundation

A beauty review by:
Michelle Hibbard

The following information and claims are from the Lancome website...
After 8 years of intense research Lancome has come out with a finish product, the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Wear Foundation. Phew! What a name!
Their goal was to make a long lasting, never cakey foundation that wears comfortably.
This is a full coverage foundation that is said make flaws, pores, redness and imperfections disappear right before your eyes, leaving a velvety matte finish but never powdery.
So the question is, is this for real?

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Wear Foundation

All 14 shades are listed in above right picture.

Priced at $45.50.

Available now at Lancome.com, Sephora, Macy's, Ulta, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue

Review:

8:00 am

I had a before shot with no make-up but my lovely 3 year old erased it.
So we are going to start here.
The before shot showed the redness around my nose, a few blemished on my chin and cheeks and dark circles under my eyes.
So I started with the foundation in the color Bisque C 310 and a flat top buffer foundation brush.
I didn't use any primer because I wanted to see the lasting wear of the foundation by itself.
It went on easily and blended right into my skin.
I used about 2 pumps and covered my whole face with some left over to touch up blemishes.
This foundation will definitely last for awhile.
It did make my skin look velvety just as Lancome said it would and it does have a matte finish but it was a tiny bit sticky so I needed to add some powder.
I used the Revlon Naked compact powder. It isn't cakey and goes on light so I thought since I was reviewing the foundation this would be a perfect powder to use.
I also applied the bronzer, blush and highlight from the Urban Decay Naked Flushed face palette. Love this palette!
I then finished up by doing my eyes, lips and excuse my eyebrows but I ran out of my Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil this morning so I had to go to plan B, my eyebrows au' natural. Not pretty at all!
Now that I am finished I am off to start my day!

6:00 pm

Ten hours later and not one touch up. Just touched up my lipstick from time to time but did not touch my face.
There is some redness around my nose starting so show through.
There are also blemishes peeking through but not too bad.
Overall this is really good!
Remember I didn't use primer so I imagine if I did it would look even better.
There were no splotchy areas and it wasn't sinking in around fine lines.
I was outside quite a bit and it was raining so I am amazed at the outcome and the ultra wear this foundation provides!
As amazing as this foundation is I don't think it would look this great after 24 hours. I would never wear my foundation for 24 hours, but I gave 10 full hours with no touch up which is a normal wear for most people and I have to say this is definitely worth the $45.50!

(sorry for the lighting in the picture on the right)

This is after I touched it up and all I did was add some more powder.
It still looks great!
I washed my face shortly after this picture so this is the last update.
This foundation is ahhh-mazing and if you are willing to spend the moola go get it now!
It comes in a variety of shades so they have yours, it literally lasts all day and if I would have used primer and maybe did one touch up in the middle of the day I would have been flawless all day long.
You don't need much product to cover you face and have full coverage and it doesn't look cakey or splotch. I was in the rain half of the day and normally that would make my foundation splotchy, but not with this foundation.
I am a believer!
I would have to rate this product a 10!!!

I am obsessed!

This incredibly vibrant palette is full of Spring/Summer colors. This could be used as a addition to the Naked palettes. I don't think you would want to mix colors from this palette but it could be nice to use these as a pop of color to a look made with another palette or shadows. It is very cool though. I am trying to get on the waiting list but have had some trouble.

The colors on this palette from top left to right are as follows: Revolt, Gonzo, Slow Burn, Savage and Fringe
The colors on the bottom row from left to right are as follows: Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak and Thrash.

What is hot and trending for Spring 2014!!

Printed Dresses

Dresses with print are trending right now, so are blouses with print and skirts! So get on it ladies!!!

These are pictures of a few examples of the printing I am talking about.

Flower print clothing

I am keeping this separate from the above prints because this is a separate trend. As you can see it goes from a beautiful flower print dress to mens/boys pants.
This flower power trend is taking over!
Its going on shoes, purses, backpacks, hats shirts, skirts, kids clothing and I even saw a small dog with a flower print shirt!

Orange Lips

This trend started on the runways but has now hit the streets. Actresses and singers are getting into the orange lipstick trend also!
I am fair skin so orange lips are not my thang! I do like to stay trendy so my orange type lipstick is Peach Parfait Lip Butter by Revlon.
Just a suggestion to my pale readers...

GOLD!

Gold is crazy hot right now! You can go for the gold like the picture above or pop some in addition to a "look" on the lid.
Gold accessories are big too. Big rings, sweater necklaces and hoop earings are making a comeback!

Woman's Blazers

The last trend I am going to talk about is the blazer. Thanks to Kim Kardashian these are trending and super cute and stylish too! The thing that is so great about a blazer is they are versatile. You can work them with jeans, a skirt, a dress, even shorts if you find a casual blazer. I am loving this trend!

k well I am going to end this here. Phew! If you like this please let me know by hitting that + button or commenting. I will be keeping my ears open for Summer sneak peeks so stay tuned!

How to: How I made my invisible eyebrows visible.

How to: Dye your eyebrows for less than $10
for months of use

A How to by:
Michelle Hibbard

I picked this little tip up a few years back. I actually got the idea from my father. He used to dye his facial hair and he would buy these boxes of beard dye and it would last forever and it took him less than ten minutes to do the whole process.

When I was little I was a blonde child but as I grew older my hair got darker, however my eyebrows stayed very light. I always had a issue with this because kids would tease me at times. If you are my age maybe you will remember a movie named "Powder"that came out in 1995. I never saw this movie but it was about a Albino, bald, no eyebrows and obviously very pale and he was a mind reader or something. Anyways my classmates would call me "powder" because my eyebrows were so light you could barely see them. Kids can be cruel! I started filling in my eyebrows at age 11.

Enough of my childhood dramas, lets get to the point! I decided to purchase a box. Now I have tried kits for the purpose of dying eyebrows but the didn't work very well and they seemed to have less effect after the first use.

After a incredibly easy application I fell in love! They looked awesome! Didn't dye my skin, but f you leave it on too long it will, it was a perfect color and I used the tiniest amount and there was some left over.

So now I use the Just For Men Mustache and Beard dye in the color Medium to Light Brown. It comes with a brush but is not usable for eyebrows so I suggest using a spooly. It comes with two tubes at 0.5 oz each, one is a color base and the other is the developer. I put a drop a tiny bit bigger than a chocolate chip of the color base and the same amount of the developer, mix them together and apply to my eyebrows and after 5 minutes I wash them off and I have eyebrows!!!

This box costs about $6.99 give or take a few pennies depending on where you buy it. The eyebrow tinting kits cost from $13.00 all the way to $45.00. The $13 is the one I tried and I didn't like it at all. It say it can be used for 6 weeks but after the first horrible orange looking application the dye seemed to be less potent.
The beard dye on the other hand lasts me about three months and it works just as well on the 3rd month as the first day.

Here is a horribly lit picture of me, the only make-up I am wearing is mascara. This is two weeks after dying my brows so the dye lasts a bit. The shape of my eyebrows are bad and they need to be plucked and I probably should have used a filter so I don't look like grey mans twin but I wanted to show the COLOR and I didn't use a filter because I wanted to use a real picture.
I don't have a before picture because I have been dying
them for so long. Just imagine these same brows but
blonde and invisible.

So if you have light brows and want to save money and use a dye that works, try this out! If you have any questions ask them in the comments and I will respond ASAP.

Weekly Random: What is Influenster and why you should know about it...

Weekly Random
Beauty 411 by:
Michelle Hibbard

'

A couple of months ago I came across a video of someone sharing a box of beauty products, snacks and household items. She had mentioned the name Influenster and then said they were sending her free boxes to try out new products.
At first I was like free? Nothing is free! They must want me to purchase something or take a bunch of meaningless surveys.

Some months went by and I forgot all about it.

I was looking through the "What to Watch" section on my youtube account and someone I was subscribed to had a video up about Influenster.

After watching her un-box some amazing items and then hearing for a second time that it is all free and gimmick free I decided to go see for myself.

I went to Influenster.com and started to register. I was thinking to myself if they start asking for credit card info I am outta here!
They never did.

So after I register it tells me I have to unlock "Badges" to get points so that I can move up on the site. I also see that it is important to be socially connected on the internet, meaning you need to have a facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, youtube or vine account, or have a blog (which I didn't at the time). You don't need all of them and you don't have to be a youtube guru but I believe they want you to have these accounts so that you can share your reviews to others.

Now for the badges. There are many types of Badges for example there is one called Beauty Queen. Click on it and there are some boxes with different things to do.
Take questionnaires, by them, this lets them know what you like. You can do reviews on products, answer questions from others on the site about products and rate them.
After unlocking some badges, doing a few reviews and staying connected with the site they sent me my first box.

This was a Celestial Seasonings Green Tea box, Which contained 4 samples of some awesome green tea.
After receiving the box I checked in with the site and there was a list of things for me to do to review the tea.

Mostly I had to go on my social media sites and share my review there. Easy-peasy!
Then they will send me a survey about what I thought of the product. Haven't gotten that far yet.

The last thing is a Twitter party. This is where everyone who received this product will get on Twitter and chat about it.
Celestial Seasonings is also sending me a few gifts. Not sure what they are yet but I guess most companies send extra things after you review their product.

So this is my experience so far. If I do the reviews, survey and Twitter party I will be sent another item. Working my way up to the VoxBox.
The VoxBox is a big box full of full size products, Mostly beauty products from what I have seen.

So if getting free stuff interested you, and no, they will not ask for a credit card number, they don't sell your info or email address to other companies or make you sign up for other sites. YOU SPEND NOTHING!  All you have to do is give your honest opinion and you get free stuff!

Good luck!

I am not paid in any way by Influesnster to do this blog. They have no idea I am doing this and I am not receiving extra points or packages for this. I am doing this specifically  for you who read my blog as a way to share this site and get some free products to review.
